The third smartphone from the company founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, the Nothing Phone 2a, is scheduled to be on sale in India soon. The UK-based company has announced that the forthcoming phone would be available in India through Flipkart prior to its official launch. Furthermore, purported hands-on photos of the Nothing Phone 2a have appeared online with its specs. The most recent leak seems to depict the Phone 2a in black. It has a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera in the middle of the screen. It’s predicted that the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC will power the Nothing Phone 2a.

Flipkart has teased the release of the Nothing Phone 2a smartphone with a special webpage on its website. In addition to carrying a Nothing community update video featuring co-founder and marketing lead Akis Evangelidis discussing the impending device, the page has the handset listed with a “coming soon” tag. The launch date and other important phone specs are not mentioned on the home page.

Furthermore, a Reddit member posted purported hands-on photos and details of the Nothing Phone 2a (via @yabhishekhd). The pictures, which display the phone’s front and back with a privacy cover, allude to a distinct design aesthetic from that of its siblings. It is visible, nonetheless, in a black hue with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera positioned in the middle. The images show that the phone has two rear-facing cameras, even with the privacy cover on. The rear cameras are positioned closer to the center of the back panel, horizontally placed.

The Nothing Phone 2a is said to include a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and run Android 13. Under the hood, it is believed to have a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. The phone may include two 50-megapixel back cameras: a 50-megapixel JN1 camera and a 50-megapixel Samsung GN9 sensor. A 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 front camera may be included. It is purportedly offered in white and black hues.

Nothing Phone 2a has no official debut date, but we anticipate it will occur later this month, maybe around Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The phone, code-named Aerodactyl, is said to provide an improved experience over the Nothing Phone 1 and is verified to utilize some of the capabilities of the Nothing Phone 2 from the previous year.
