The Huawei Pocket 2 will soon be available in China. The foldable smartphone’s debut date was disclosed by the firm, but not much more was disclosed. The device is anticipated to replace the November 2022 Chinese launch of the Huawei Pocket S. It is anticipated that the next flip-foldable phone will arrive with improvements over the previous generation. The Huawei Pocket 2’s color variations and finishes have been hinted at in several recent design leaks.

Huawei has officially announced that the Huawei Pocket 2 will launch on February 22 at 2:30 pm local time (12 pm IST) via a Weibo post. While the teaser does not explicitly reveal the phone’s appearance, it does allude to two circular modules that resemble the Huawei P50 Pocket and earlier Huawei Pocket S. It is anticipated that one of these circular components will house the back cameras, while the other would probably house the outside display.

The rear panel design clue matches previous leaks. It is anticipated that the Huawei Pocket 2 will be available in black, purple, and white color options—the latter of which has a design resembling marble. In the meanwhile, the purple version with the imitation leather finish was seen. The phone is anticipated to include a bigger battery than the previous iteration, a Kirin 9000s SoC, and triple rear camera modules.

The Huawei Pocket S is notable for having an outside 1.04-inch circular OLED display and a 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED main screen. The smartphone has a 40-megapixel main sensor a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide angle lens on its dual back camera, and a 10.7-megapixel sensor on its front camera.

Initially available in Frost Silver, Ice Crystal Blue, Mint Green, Obsidian Black, Primrose Gold, and Sakura Pink colorways, the Huawei Pocket S cost CNY 5,988 (about Rs. 67,900) when it was first released in China. The 8GB + 256GB and 8GB + 512GB versions of the clamshell folding device were also released; they were priced at CNY 6,488 (about Rs. 73,600) and CNY 7,488 (about Rs. 84,900), respectively.
