In what is essentially the start of his reelection campaign for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to take part in the highly anticipated Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, or pran pratishtha, to be performed in the temple town of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, January 22.
In Ayodhya, tens of thousands of devotees have come, filling trains, clogging highways, and marching in on foot while brandishing flags, blowing horns, and playing drums.

Ayodhya: A top official told Reuters that the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation will start building a large mosque in Ayodhya in May of this year. It will probably take three or four years to finish.
